Why Use a Professional Petsitter
Our
pets are part of our families.
Currently nearly 65% of all households have some kind of pet, with the
majority (over 100 million) being cats and dogs. Many people also share their homes with birds, fish, hamsters,
mice, ferrets, snakes, iguanas and other pets.
Studies
by the Humane Society and ASPCA show that pets are happiest when they are home,
even if you are not. They remain in
their secure environment with familiar sounds, sights and smells. They maintain their daily routines of
exercise, play, meals and naps. Your
pets get the love and personal attention they need from their petsitting
friend.
Save
your pets the stress of taking them to a kennel. Even the best kennel is a strange and unfamiliar
environment. Some pets have a fear of
being transported. They may feel
abandoned or be traumatized by being in close contact with strange animals. There is also a possibility of exposure to
illnesses from other animals.
Friends
or family may offer to help but it can be very difficult to ensure that things
are being done the way you want, when you want. In-home professional pet care keeps you from having to impose on
family, friends or neighbors. It may be
convenient for them at first, but that could change with each passing day. If their schedules change, they may not be
able to spare the time required to care for your pet. Also, they may not recognize the subtle changes in your pet
indicating illness or injury. Don’t
risk ruining a good friendship over your need for pet care while you are
away.
Simply
leaving a big bowl of food and water out for your cat while you are going to be
away is dangerous for the health of your pet.
If they don’t space out their own meals, they can eat all the food
before you return. This could mean
several days of going hungry. A bored
and lonely cat is going to get into mischief.
There are so many things in your home that could cause injury or death –
choking hazards, plants, strangling on drapery cords, chewing on electric
wires.
While
you are away we will:
Follow your pets customary diet and routine
Play with your pets. A bored pet may find amusement in the destruction of valuable
household items
Give medication and vitamins
Get medical treatment in case of illness
Mountain
Care guarantees that your pets will be given the best possible care in
accordance with your instructions.
